Just bought a 93 240 wagon and the brake lights have started staying on
recently. If the key is removed brake lights work nornally with relay
clicking when brake is depressed, and again when released. Turn the
key on and brake lights come on when pedal is depressed, but when the
    pedal is released
the brake lights do not turn off, and there is no "click" from the
    relay. Anyone have any ideas.

    Thanks

If the white socket is on the right, black on the left, the correct
(1157) bulbs have been installed properly and the brake light switch is
opening as it should, then the bulb integrity sensor is the likely
culprit. There should be no relay clicking when you step on the brake.
You're likely hearing a noisy cruise control safety switch.
