    Hi all,

I owe an '85 244 DL (sorry for title error) that has 124k miles on it currently. After having a breakdown and bad service from Firestone, resulting in a subsequent break-down and correct service from a Volvo mechanic, I am interested in both learning more about how the car functions and, if possible, how to do repairs myself.

    I would like to ask:
    1) how easy are 240 DLs to repair and work on for someone who has no prior experience working on automobiles?
    2) What the best resources, manuals, etc. to consult when diagnosing a problem and to gain general knowledge about the vehicle?

Thanks for your time and happy new year everyone.
