It appears that Volvo switched from the Dreaded Two-Piece hubcaps to one piece plastic ones in '89. Will these also fit an '88? I know that it wouldn't match, but that doesn't bother me. A quick answer would be much appreciated. --
if "matching" isn't that important, why not just dump the stock Volvo disks and buy a cheap set at Walmart or someplace similar? I did that 3 years ago for my '89 240, put on some nice shiny chrome-like ones, and they made the car look GREAT! I think the set was on sale for about $20.... Understand, I'm not knocking the stock disks, just that the cheap replacements made the old car look newer overall. Flashy bling-bling on the old lady....
Yes they will fit as long as the wheel size is the same Glenn -- "*-344-*Never Forgotten" Is for the New York City Firemen who lost their lives on September 11,2001. The official count is 343, but there was also a volunteer who lost his life aiding in the initial rescue efforts. And I will never forget them as long as I live, nor should any American.
Thanks! Now I just have to find one or more one-piece hubcaps. The ones on Ebay are made in...oops, never mind. Don't want to get *that* started again. -- http://www.albany.net/~mjc1/index.html
We know, but some of us were at work all day instead of browsing the usenet. Yes they'll fit, so long as you have 14" wheels.
If I could find US or Canadian-made ones, I would. I actually had an AMC Concord hubcap on one of the rear wheels (that's the one that fell off), because I figured having a ventilated one wasn't critical on the rear, with the light use we make of the car. We had a local salvage yard, but it went up in flames last month... --
Yuck, I've looked at pretty much every aftermarket plastic wheelcover and they just look like crap on a Volvo, well they look like crap on anything but especially Volvos. IPD sells some that at least resemble the factory wheel covers.
