    Hi all,

    - 1987 760GLE w/B280F V6 (North American)

    - Cam gear rack

Issue: When engine is warm or cold, the power steering sometimes makes a
shuddering through the steering wheel (at parking speeds), and if you look
at the wheel outside, it's actually vibrating back n' forth very quickly
    (and quite noticably)

Ball joints are ok, rack looks good, no leaks, pump isn't making noise/belts
    quiet.

As mentioned, it does this sometimes, but, I'm wondering if something is
quite wrong with the rack/pump?!? Air in the system? Shouldn't be.

    Any information would be appreciated.

    Cheers

  2. Probably find that the rack internal seals are on the way out, or air is
getting in via the track rods at each end of rack. This can also be caused
by loose fluid unions on the rack. See your local steering expert for exact
    diagnosis.

    All the best, Peter.
