83' 245 oil pressure problem

Discussion in 'Volvo 240' started by Marco Rolandi, Oct 18, 2004.

  1. Hello,

I have an 83' 245 with 185k miles on it and it runs great. During the past
couple of days the indicator light for low oil pressure turns on every
    once in a while.
Lately more and more often, the light flickers, does not
    relly turn on completely.
The engine is running fine and not hot, the
oil level is right and the oil filter brand new.
Could this be just an electrcal problem, if so, where shall I look?
Are oil pumps likely to fail at this age and mileage?

    Thanks,
    Marco.

The sender is on the side of the block above where the alternator is
mounted. It can go bad, but look at the wire connected to it.

Replace tt with t (twice!) and remove parentheses to email me directly.
(But I check the newsgroup more often than this email address.)
