Posting this to eventually help someoene with the same or similar
problem...The problem was described in two earlier posts:

    -850tdi - loss of power (2005-06-16)
    -850tdi - OBD2 confusion (2005-06-08)

    It turned out to be:

    1) faulty mass airflow sensor
    2) faulty needle valve sensor

    Yes - two sensors :-(

After replacing the sensors car runs even better than when I bought it
about 2 yrs ago. And there is almost no smoke even when I accelerate hard...

I had to go the the proper Volvo service for this. I got second hand
sensors with only 30 days guarantee :-( the prices were:

    1) 230 euros (or 280 USD, 150 GBP)
    2) 160 euros (or 200 USD, 110 GBP)

Work was 60 euros (or 75 USD, 40 GBP)

The prices for new sensors were SHOCKING.

    1) 630 euros (or 770 USD, 420 GBP)
    2) 550 euros (or 670 USD, 360 GBP)

And a short q for the end...

Please, tell me how much would it be in your country.
These are the prices in Croatia, and I think it must be a rip off :-(

    THNX.
