'89 740T headlight problem

Discussion in 'Volvo 740' started by Norbert Ricafort, Nov 25, 2003.

  1. The low beam headlights both work just fine however when I click onto high
beam only the passenger side works and both low beam headlights goes out.
I've checked that both sealed high beam headlights work and I have switch
sides just to double check and still only the passenger side works. Also the
defective bulb warning light stays on constantly regardless of headlights
being on low or high beam yet all other auxiliary bulbs are functioning.

Don't really know where to start to trouble shoot the problem. Any advice
    would be great.

    Thanx in advance,

    Norbert

You have a bad ground, most likely on the side that goes out. Follow the
wires from the headlight to where one of them is secured to the body with a
screw or nut, take it off, wire brush all contact areas and reattach. Sorry
I can't be more specific on location, so far I've only had to do this on
    240s.
