I have a 1994 850 Turbo with 290,000K. I wanted to add "restore" to my
engine since it was getting old and I wanted to run at its best is this
recommended?? I always change the oil on time and I don't have any
    problems with it.

Engine rebuild in a can. I don't trust such things. If you have no
    problems, leave well enough alone.

Yeah those products are designed to squeeze a few more miles out of a tired
engine before it gets junked. If your car is running well, keep it running
    by properly maintaining it.

  5. my .02$ is...don't %$#@ with it.... ;-)
if it is working ok, compression is alright...no major
leaks, no funny noises....i would just tune it up,
push the boost to around 12-15psi....slap on some
IPD performance items...and drive it for another
250k miles...but, hell...if it makes you sleep better
at night...start watching eBay for a used motor, to
keep in the garage...if you are not in a hurry, i
think you can find one for around $500 at most...i
found a 940t for $400...i would go light on the
    additivives...extra $ spens, w/no verifyable results...
i use them ocassionaly...i have a tranny fluid leake, we
    (my mechanic & i) can't find the leake...so i have been
hoping the "stop leak" fluids would work...but, no joy yet...
after 4 small cans...over the last 12 mos...

but i digress...damm man...you have one of the best build
volvos on the market...fix it up and drive the %^$# out
of it...if nothing is major wrong...do some performance mods
ie: turn up the boost, suspension braces & thick sway bars..
nice sticky tyres...treat the leather interior...and
    ENJOY... ;-)

just my opinion, i could be wrong

Thanks... A little off topic but I was offered a 850R computer trade for
my 850 computer.... The 850R was in an accident and my buddy offered to
trade with me I had to turn him down because I wasn't sure if the chip was
too much for my engine what do you think?? was it a good move???

anyone ever use the octaine booster, in the
orange plastic bottle i am trying from advanced
auto...(i think advanced) i am thinking it is a
    STP product.....anyway...i am running a
    overboosted 1993 940t...i am running about a 93
octane priemium fuel...the best i can get on the
    street...and i thought a i would try some booster..
any opinions on this type of additive??

Is your 850 a high pressure turbo? If so it's the same motor as the R I
think. If it's a low pressure then swapping computers probably isn't a good
    idea.

It is A high pressure turbo.. but I was just curious about the fuel
management if it would be compatible with my engine.

I've never known anyone who's done this swap first hand, but have heard
it's no problem, as long as all equipment is the same from car to car.
(Same transmission, EGR present etc.) Also, 1996 is OBD-II compliant,
some 95s were, some weren't, ECUs are not swappable between the types.

Same motor then, so it's compatible as long as the year is the same, or the
computers are the same across those years. The R just runs higher boost.

www.turbobricks.com or someone other than myself to advise
    you on something like this...sorry.......
