    Hi All

I am a Volvo 240 owner with MANY problems. I need to know where all you
Canadian do-it-yourselfers get your parts. Is there a Canadian parts place
online? I there any place in the GTA? Do you just got to Canadian Tire?

    TIA

Nadia, who needs a front wheel bearing and a thermostat.

    Hi Nadia,

Canadian Tire is ok, and NAPA (who sells to jobbers/mechanics) also sells decent quality
parts. Especially for basic general parts like wheel bearings and thermostats.

Anything more specific, (ie: dealer only items) I deal with Roberts Motors on Dundas.
They are a decent Volvo dealer with a good parts dept.

If you require a shop, I only recommend the European car specialists at Sam's Garage
    (905-294-8617).

But Canadian Tire sells just about everything you need for regular maintenance, including
coolant, gaskets, oil you name it.

I do most of my own maintenance, but anything I can't do, it goes to Sam's :)

For used Volvo parts (trim, tail lights, etc...) you can go to Hamilton's Corner Garage.
They are located in Guelph, they have over 800 Volvos in their scrap yard.

    Hope that helps ;)

Oh yeah! I know the guy in Guelph. I used to go to university there and
pass that place all the time.

Thanks for the tip about Sam's. Where is he located?

Sam's Garage is located in Markham, McCowan and Hwy 7 specifically on Bullock Drive.

Louie is the chief mechanic, they've worked on all the cars I've owned for years (the ones
I don't wrench myself). Typically you'll see everything over there from Fiat to Ferrari,
and quite a few Volvos!! ;) Sam's is equipped with state of the art equipment, some
garages don't have all the diagnostic tools for newer cars, troubleshooting and
diagnostics is where the $$$ start racking up.

Cheers, good luck! I've probably seen your 240 around!
