dashboard lighting issue (85 245)

  1. I replaced the heater blower and speedometer cable, and now my dash
lights seem to be a little odd. Instead of normally being dash lights,
they sometimes switch turning on the blinker lights and the high beam
lights, and the overall dash light isn't on.

Is that a faulty ground/bad connection, or the wiring harness issue?
when I push on the dash cluster, it goes back to normal.

You've got a connection that's either loose or shorting another connection
in there somewhere. Open things up in the area where pushing fixes it, see
if you forgot to tighten one of the ground connections.

  3. I was thinking htat maybe one of the wires came loose out of the back
of the plugs. But I didn't get to check it today (I was too lazy).

It shouldn't be a ground issue, as I made sure to check those before I
put it all back together. But, you never know. I'll check tomorrow
morning. Hopefully it's a simple (and stupid) fix.
