My 84 240 has burgundy paint that has been oxidizing over time. Is there
anything I can do to clean and seal the paint to keep it from getting worse?
    Thanks,
    Bob

My '86 940 is #046 Red and once a year I have to have it professionally
polished and waxed, I've not tried adding a clear laquer coating yet, but
I'm thinking about it. The Volvo reds were the worst for sun fade and
oxidisation, not much you can do except polish and lots of wax....

As far as I know !

Ah, wasn't sure if you meant '86 740, I've seen older cars with fading paint
but it surprises me one that new did. My mom's '86 240 would turn rags red
while washing it even when it was new. Finally repainted it and had a
clearcoat put on, no more fading.

I believe it lived on the south coast of U.K. for a few years before I
bought it, and it's got 186,000 on the clock....
Still running sweet with a little TLC every now and then !
I may try the laquer as I'm getting fed up with paying £80 every spring to
get it polished, and anyway there won't be much red left to polish in a few
    years !!
