I pulled the end cap off my old radiator (94 850 turbo) to see what
form of oil cooler it had (I expected a finned tube), and to see why
    it leaked (circled area.)

I was suprised to see the multiple-flat-tube oil cooler for one thing.
The rubber seal looked intact, but the pastic cap was distorted in the
area of the leak, perhaps by stresses caused by the hose connection,
or constant tension from the hose itself.

I also learned that repair is out of the question, because the metal
crimps are very fragile. Many of them broke off as I was bending them
    outward.

Also note the dimpled inside of the cross tubes. to increase
    turbulence.
