Installing a TAC in a 240

    Can this be installed in a automatic and/or a five speed?

    Yes. There are two different form factors: 1) in main cluster (about 3
    inch diameter), 2) in accessory cluster (2 inch diameter). Signal comes
    from ignition coil. Can't remember which terminal. Check schematic in
    Haynes book(s). The petrol powered 240 usually is pre-wired for a
    tachometer. Should be red/white wire with female spade connector
    somewhere in dash area. If you have a diesel powered 240, the signal
    for the tachometer is derived from the alternator. The diesel's
    tachometer calibration is different and cannot be used in a petrol
    powered car.

    A RPM gauge, they are one in the same I just learned..
