Is the V40 an ok car?

    I only ask becuase im sort of looking for a replacement for my VW mk3
    golf 1800 and i think the v40 might be what im looking for. Trouble is
    ,i read some negative stuff in car reviews etc and they seem to be
    avaialble at good procies here in the uk. Any comments please for v40
    owners and others,, incidentally im thinking of 1800cc and
    above,probably petrol,manual gearbox
