Rebuilt Eng and Tranny for '97 850GLT

Anyone out there what the cost of a rebuilt tranny and engine would be for the
97 850GLT with a LP turbo? I think that my tranny is shot at 108K miles!
Also, what possible site or outfits can I call to purchase these?

You think? Might be best to verify this before you dump $ into a new tranny.

 

Engine AND tranny rebuild?. Here in the UK the answer would be to scrap it
and buy a new car.

 

Yeah but that's UK and this isn't, it's completely wasteful to scrap a car
with a good body and interior. I'd be very surprised if the engine needs a
rebuild at such low mileage. Transmission rebuild is worthwhile if it needs
it, may want to look for a good used one though.

 

You know us crazies here in the US...this is one car I would like to hold onto
for a while...$3000 is better than $25K for a new one....
