Retro fitting CIS fuel injection to a B230 engine

    Hi all,

My current 1984 UK 740 estate is flying around our lovely damp roads,
fuelled by a carburettor at the moment, but, a donor CIS system has
become available, for me to acquire; I'm not too worried about the fuel
pumps, distributors, etc. However, a potential fly in the soup, is that
the donor engine is a B200E, my questions/quandaries are, will this
donor cylinder head work ok on my B230 block, I know the bore diameter
will be a tiny bit smaller, but, the piston crowns shouldn't go near
there, however, will the little recess thus created at TDC have any
detrimental effect?. Are the valves and ports smaller, are the ports in
the exact same location? Has anyone done this before?
I've been waiting a long time for a full CIS system to become available,
because, I abhor complication in a car, and you can't get much more
simple than CIS, it also seems to be a lot simpler to retro fit,
    compared to multipoint.

Anyway, thanks in advance, all input welcome :)

    Happy new year,

You might look into multipoint with something like Megasquirt. Seems a
lot simpler than mucking around with CIS, that system is great when it
works but it never seems to run quite like it should and it can be
difficult to diagnose. I look forward to having time to convert my CIS
    injected 240 to Megasquirt.
