I have a 1998 S70, and I have a question about the door switch and unlock
switch. I was a dufus and separated the buttons from the underlying
switches. If you see the picture at
http://www.overlunch.com/images/volvo/doorswitches.jpg , you can see what
I'm talking about. I can put the two pieces together, but I believe that
    I'm missing some pieces.

Does anyone know what I'm missing that keeps the switches in position? By
that I mean some sort of spring that makes the button return to its
original position. At the top of the picture you can see a spring that I
found, but I'm not sure if I should have other springs, and I don't know
    how they're oriented.

    Any help would be appreciated.

That spring goes vertically into a hole (not visible in the picture, but
very near the upper LED) in the upper end of the left piece in your
picture. When installed correctly, you'll only see the shiny end which
rides on the upper part of the white plastic piece which moves with the
lock/unlock rocker. Taping the lock switch into the neutral position on
the upper side may help during reassembly. Make sure the pin of the in
the middle of the right half ends up in the hole of the small white
    piece of plastic.

On the driver's side you have 2 of those springs and 4 pins to mate into
4 holes. (It's not as hard to reassemble as it appears it may be from
    my description.)

Replace tt with t (twice!) and remove parentheses to email me directly.
(But I check the newsgroup more often than this email address.)
