Is the Robert Bentley service manual for the Volvo 240 worth getting
(ISBN 0837602858)? I have the Chilton that covers my two cars (covers
all Volvos from '90 - '98!), but that one is only slightly more
valuable for working on the car than it would be for leveling out a
    wobbly table.

The Bentley book is far better than the Chilton one IMO.

  3. It is the only one to get for the 200 series, apart from the Volvo Green
    Book Service Manual.

    All the best, Peter.

Thanks, guys. I just ordered it through Amazon (price new there was
less than a used one one eBay!).

    I just bought a V40 (1997) and its user's manual is in
Finnish (I live in Finlnad but don't speak any Finnish).

Can anyone tell me how to find the manual in English?

I tried to order it from a Volvo shop but they told me it's
    not for sale.

    Thanks
