The Supplemental Restraint System (airbag) light just went on. My 240
has 180K on it. Fuses are all fine. My manual says air bag module &
sensor unit should be replaced every 10 years by Volvo dealer. Yikes,
I can see big bucks flying away! Anything I can get to by myself? Of
course the manual says don't attempt service yourself . . .
My Haynes manual only covers to '86 so has nothing to say about
    airbags.

    Thanks much,
    Jay

    Follow the instructions at:
    http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/ElectricalSRS.htm
to read the code. The 240 is the same except the test point is behind a
switch blank (marked) on the center console.
The control unit has no way of knowing that your airbag is 10 years
old. In fact, Volvo has raised the 10 year replacement recommendation
to 15 years and even 20 on some of them.

Replace tt with t (twice!) and remove parentheses to email me directly.
