I just learned something interesting while having my bi-yearly emissions test. Now they test the vehicle's fuel cap for leakage of fumes (hydrocarbons). Naturally, my '95 940 failed this test. I was obliged to purchase a new after-market cap while they threw the old one away. They told me that Volvos in particular, even the newer ones have a problem with the OEM caps. They said that they seem to be very fragile, and once you drop it, you break something inside having to do with the vent system, I guess. Has anyone heard of this? They have a special test tool that fits onto the cap that measures the leakage. Aleric
