The persistent canard in this NG that somehow Volvo will be "tainted" by
being owned by Ford flies in the face of reality. Every company that Ford
has taken over has significantly IMPROVED and BENEFITTED from the
association. Aston-Martin is better than ever. Jaguar improved mightily and
no longer sells "hangar queens". Cosworth still builds the finest race
engines in the world - along with Honda, to be sure. The list goes on....
I, for one, see nothing but good things for Volvo now that a sensible
corporation, rather than a welfare state famous for it's drunkeness, is "in
charge".
Current Volvos are vastly superior to the older ones - and the new ones
being promoted are better still.
What's the "best" Volvo? Any Volvo is the "best" Volvo - and the newer ones,
including my 850, are the ones to buy......

| Not sure how late of a model Volvo you should want; have heard that since
| Ford now runs the show for Volvo that the same quality of earlier Volvos
| might be in short supply??
