850 Rear main seal leaking BAD

Yeah right.

Bars stop leak doesn't work on cam/crank seals. The seal is blown because there was
excess crankcase pressure, it ruptured the seal.

Stop leak stuff only works on gaskets, if you're lucky. It swells up the seals, works on
cork, and some synthetic compound rubber gaskets. Does not work at all on wiper seals.

Unionville Volvo in well.... Unionville (which is located just out of Toronto, ON Canada).
They are owned by Volvo Villa. I would highly recommend them, the sales dept was top
notch, they fixed all the deficiencies before we picked up the car, and the oil leak is on
the house.

Thanks to the people at Unionville Volvo. This is our 2nd Volvo.

The dealer decided without me getting upset that they will repair the rear main seal, it
is bad.

The PCV system was recently replaced, and this could have caused the leak in the first
place. The car will be repaired this week, and I'm happy.

Volvo dealers are top notch in my books.
You might pay a little more, but its worth it.

I'm glad they did the right thing. There are some great Volvo dealers, some
OK Volvo dealers and some crummy Volvo dealers. It sounds like yours is at
least in the OK category.

Enjoy!
